How do I set up my e-mail account and configure my Outlook software?

Answer:

For complete documentation on e-mail accounts for students, faculty, and staff, and

for configuration information, please refer to the attached documents. The setup

tutorial was created using Microsoft Outlook 2007.

For advanced users, here is the server information:

Username*: <Your myIIT Portal Username>

Password: <Your myIIT Portal Password>

Incoming Server Type: IMAP or POP

Incoming Server Address: mail.iit.edu

Incoming Server Port: Default Port Settings - 143 (IMAP); 110 (POP)

Outgoing Server Type: SMTP (requires authentication using incoming server)

Outgoing Server Address: mail.iit.edu

Outgoing Server Port: 587 (Only if also using to connect from off campus. If using

only from on campus you may leave the default port settings)

* Your email address is simply your myIIT portal username with "@iit.edu" appended to

the end.
