Viewing IIT Online lectures using Mozilla Firefox

Entered on 08/18/2009 at 14:45:45 CDT (GMT-0500)

Question:

How do I view IIT Online lectures using Mozilla Firefox?

Answer:

You will have to specify that Firefox should open videos with RealPlayer, using the following process:

  • Once you login to Blackboard and select your course, click on the IIT Online tab on the left sidebar. A list of lectures is provided with links to the course videos (camera icons).
  • Click the camera icons to play the lectures in the IIT Online tab. The first time you play a lecture in Firefox, you will see a Firefox prompt. Select Open with RealPlayer (default).
  • Check Do this automatically for files like this from now on to avoid receiving the above prompt again.
  • Click OK.

RealPlayer will open.
